The technology behind our electric lawn heating
Our electric lawn heating is based on high-precision zone control, which divides the lawn into 93 individually controllable heating zones. Each zone can be individually controlled – depending on shadowing, solar radiation, wind speed, and soil moisture. This fine-meshed concept ensures that each area of the playing field receives exactly the heat it needs – without wasting energy and without creating muddy or overly dry areas.
The electric heating elements used are characterized by their direct, inertia-free heat emission. They have no dead times, react immediately to control commands, and enable precise temperature control in the soil. Compared to water-based systems, there is no delay due to heat transfer – every temperature change is implemented immediately.
The core of the system is our intelligent control algorithm, which goes far beyond simple temperature control. It analyzes not only the current soil temperature but also its change over time, the development of moisture in the soil, and the local wind speed. These parameters are evaluated in real time to adjust the heating power predictively and dynamically. The result: maximum energy efficiency with minimal power consumption – naturally with 100% renewable energy.
In addition, the system is fully communication-enabled. In the future, the control system will be able to interact directly with those responsible for the stadium turf – for example, through automatic notifications via SMS if control parameters do not match. This informs the greenkeeper if, for example, the required heating power and the measured soil moisture are not in the optimal ratio.
The result: A perfectly tempered, ready-to-play lawn – intelligently, sustainably, and future-proof controlled.
